CHILD MARRIAGE AND THEIR IMPACT ON INDIAN SOCIETY
Jagvir Singh Maan
Abstract:
In civilized society, child marriage has been accepted as a negative indicator and a big challenge for human development. Due to this, children are deprived of getting full education. They do not get opportunities for skill development. The responsibilities arising out of marriage deprive them of the right to flourish and dream about their lives. The same survey shows that 31 percent of women face emotional, physical and sexual violence. The society which argues that marriage at a young age strengthens the moral standards of society is well aware that in some contexts, marriage also gives men the social right to commit violence against women. According to 2016 data, 29 out of 100 women are victims of physical or sexual violence by their husbands. It is a matter of genuine concern that a large number of child marriages still take place in India. A recent report has revealed that in several states of North India, one crore men and three and a half crore women still suffer from child marriages. While every third person of Rajasthan is a victim of child marriage, Uttar Pradesh, the state with the largest population of the country, is the top in child marriage. 13.5 lakhs in Uttar Pradesh, 7.5 lakhs in Rajasthan, five lakh people have been married in Madhya Pradesh. The rate of child marriage is relatively high in Uttar Pradesh's leading districts Ghaziabad, Allahabad, Agra, Jaipur in Rajasthan, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and Indore, Faridabad in Haryana. Recently, the Central Government has also admitted in an affidavit filed in the Delhi High Court that the practice of child marriage is going on in many parts of the country. A major loss from child marriage is falling on their education. The children or girls whose child is married, if they are going to school also, their studies are first abandoned. This paper will attempt to discuss different aspects of child marriage in India

CLAIM SETTLEMENT MECHANISM OF HEALTH INSURERS IN
INDIA: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS
Dr.Bino Joy
Abstract:
Health insurance in India is a fastest growing segment in the insurance sector
due to increase in the life style diseases, rising awareness about health insurance,
increase in the average income level etc. Liberalisation paved the way for entering
private players in the insurance market. Now there are four public sector insurance
companies, eighteen private sector insurers, six stand-alone insurance companies and
two specialised insurers providing health insurance coverage to the customers. It is
seen that the growth rate as well as the AAGR of premium of public sector companies
is higher in comparison with private sector companies.Incurred claim ratio of public
general insurance companies is higher than that of private sector general insurers.
Number of claims paid over the years seems to be greater than the number of claims
repudiated and claims pending. The claims of higher values are either prone to
repudiation and/or pending by the insurers. This has become a matter of serious
concern amongst policyholders’ losing confidence in the insurance claim management,
leading to poor customer satisfaction and low retention and policy renewals. Hence;
the insurance sector is required to expedite the handling and claims settlement
mechanism proactively and promptly

E-Commerce in India: A Status and Strategic Approach for Marketing
Dr. Sarita Rana
Abstract:
The current century is the age of Information. The technological advancement in
the field of electronics, computers and internet has entered into every walk of life and
revolutionized the era of information in the 21st century. A kind of explosion in the
application of information technologies has turned the ambition of managing business
electronically anywhere globally into a reality. The term Commerce has been reshaped into
Electronic Commerce or popularly known as E-Commerce. E-commerce is the performing
of business transactions of trade and commerce electronically, i.e., buying or selling of
goods, services and information as a product over the Internet. It is important to mention
here that information has also become a product in the present times. Electronic commerce
seems possible on the basis of technologies such as online transactions, electronic data
interchange (EDI), inventory management systems, mobile commerce, electronic funds
transfer, supply chain management, online retailing, online auctions, Internet marketing,
electronic bulletin boards and automated data collection systems. E-commerce has grown
at an incredible speed in the first decade of the present century that it is no longer a concept
now rather a market force to boost up the global economy. In this manner, E-Commerce
has enabled new forms of businesses along with novel ways of performing transactions of
trade and commerce. Thus E-Commerce has unleashed a new revolution in the global
world.

Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh
Prince Chhabra
Abstract:
If the total strength of child labor in the country in evaluated we can see that it constitutes
around 10.3% of total work force. This percentage has increased from 5.01% in 1971 to
5.81 in 1980 and 7.8% in 2001. This is also a fact that most of the child labors are
engaged in rural areas of the country, this is because that in the rural areas there are a
number of problem like poverty, droughts, floods, employment, etc., and the children of the
family are forced to work for earning some extra money to feed the other members. There
are certain facts that one cannot deny like family issues, drought, flood, etc. because of
which all the respective family members including children are forced to work for earning
bread. This present study will evaluate the scenario of child labour in the country,
considering Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as sample.

Women Characters in Arun Joshi’s The Last Labyrinth – A Prototype
of Values
Dr. Manisha
Abstract:
Indian English writers in the post -independence period have made an effort to address themselves
to a Western audience and have a desire to define and interpret the East for its benefit. In the
process, they rediscovered their country and their own special characteristics. Progress of the West
lies in its materialism, but the crowning glory of the East is its spiritual achievement. Arun Joshi
tried to view with serenity the challenges of contrasting cultures through the women characters.
There is a sharp contrast between the women of traditional society and modern materialistic society.
The present paper aims to discuss transversal values of two worlds through women characters in
Arun Joshi‟s The Last Labyrinth.

Youth and Education in 21st Century
Prabhat Kumar
Abstract:
As a positive gradient, education plays the valuable role in all parts of human life. Fooding, clothes
and houses are very basic things of life. But education has its own importance to live a respectable
life. Even for a long time, we cannot earn the basic needs or necessities of life without education.
In the ancient time of India, the ‘Upanayana’ ceremony was known for the beginning of education.
With the completion of education, all educated people were called by respectful name ‘dvijo’.
‘Dvijo’ was considered as the second born of any educated person after the biological birth. It was
reflecting the enlighten personality of educated person. Thus, we can say that, education was
considered as the significance part of human life in our society for very long time. In this paper the
role and importance of education in youth has been discussed deliberately.
