MULTISCALE TERRAIN ANALYSIS FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF EROSION SUSCEPTIBLE AREAS AN EXAMPLE OF LEBANESE TERRITORIES
Jean A. Doumit, SalwaSaidi
Abstract:
The objective of this paper was to develop multiscale models for the identification of erosion susceptible areas, exploring the potential of different spatial resolution open source Digital Elevation Models (DEM), (MERIT, SRTM, ALOS AW3D, and ALOS PALSAR). Topography and terrain derivative parameters that have the greater impact on erosion were calculated in Geographical Information System based on geomorphometry algorithms and fuzzy logic functions proposed for theevaluation of each parameter on erosion risk in Lebanese territories. The objective of this research was to develop based on topography parameters (slope and dissection index) and based on terrain derivatives (LS factor, profile curvature, stream power index and topography wetness index) four different models for assessing the susceptible areas of erosion on the Lebanese territories, exploring the potential of DEMs of different spatial resolutions. Topography parameters and terrain derivatives were computed fromthe DEM´s elevation, and some fuzzy logic functions were proposed toevaluate the influence of each parameter on erosion risk. The results showed that DEM useis relatively easy, an uncostly method to identify, in a qualitative way, the erosion susceptible areas (ESA) varies with the spatial resolution (scale) and related to the DEM way of interpolation. From this study, we can conclude that in digital erosion modeling the correlation vary with the type and resolution of the database used and influence on the shape and geometry of the Erosion Susceptible Areas.

Effect of Peptizer in Mastication Process of Natural Rubber / Butadiene Rubber Blending: Rheological and Mechanical Properties
Ade Sholeh Hidayat, Dewi Kusuma Arti, Lies A. Wisojodharmo, Muslim Efendi Harahap, Herri Susanto
Abstract:
In our previous study, an investigation of different formulations with and without silica filler for passenger tire tread has been reported. The optimum formulation has been obtained, focusing on carbon black filled with natural rubber/butadiene blending. This study aims to extensively compare the optimal condition of mastication for three different types of peptizers. They were Vestenamer®, Aktiplast® 8 and Rhenosin® 145. The viscoelastic and mechanical properties of carbon black-filled with natural rubber/butadiene rubber blending from different types of peptizer were investigated and compared to find out the compound providing the highest compatibility for tire retread application. A wide variety of rheological properties were observed, such as payne effect and frequency sweep. The addition of Vestenamer® significantly increase the payne effect, hardness, rebound resilience and abrasion properties compared to the other two peptizers. However, the values of tensile strength and tear strength are still lower than Aktiplast® 8, but they have already fulfilled the requirement, 20 N/mm2 and 200 N, for the tensile strength and tear strength, respectively. It is proved that Vestenamer® is the best peptizer to optimize the mastication process

Impact of Globalisation on family structure of Muslim Jarral Rajputs of Rajouri, J&K
Salma Shahzad, Dr. Rama Singh
Abstract:
In the present research paper, we shall discuss a study which has been carried out on the Muslim jarral Rajput community situating in the Behrote of the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and the effect of Globalization on their family structure, decision making and their mode of treatment on this community. Its historicity lies in the fact that the Muslim jarral Rajput community living in the Behrote of the Rajouri district. The Jarral Muslim Rajputs claim that they belong to Chandervanshi pandvas clan. Jarral Rajputs are the descendants of Raja "Jir Rao". The 1st Hindu Jarral Rajput who embraced Islam was Raja Sab Sinah. The Jarral Muslim Rajputs are known by the title of 'Mirza'.

Review of Vapor Pressure Correlation
N. M. Abakar, A. A. Rabah
Abstract:
This work reviews the experimental data and correlations vapor pressure for eight organic compounds, including (ethane,90.36-300K; pentane,309.2-469.6K; ethene(ethylene),103.99-276K; ethyne (acetylene),192.2-308.7K; 1,1-difluoroethane(R152a), 154.56-378K; benzene,278.7-550K; toluene,383.78-594K and 1,3-dimethylbenzene (m- Xylene),412-617K) are reported, and the four predictive correlations including Antoine, Wagner, Lee–Kesler’sand Clausius-Clapeyron, this various correlations are evaluated and compared with experimental data. The results indicate that Lee–Kesler’swithAAPD of 1.78%, WagnerwithAAPD of 2.37%, Antoine withAAPD of 2.73% and Clausius-ClapeyronwithAAPD of 8.63% was achieved. It is shown that the Lee–Kesler’s equation is more accurate than three commonly used models in vapor pressure prediction
