Abstract:
Cities and towns evolve and expand mainly as a result of their geographic location and physical climate. The availability of water in different forms in its natural setting contributes significantly to the improvement of the physical climate, biodiversity, and tourism. The protection of water bodies is often overlooked in construction projects. As a result, restoration, conservation, and protection are important.Water bodies are a major factor that contributes to an area's long-term growth. Furthermore, the existence of water bodies adds to the psychological importance of the environment. It entails (a) improving the aesthetic quality of the city, thereby contributing to its image, and (b) improving tourism, biodiversity, and the environment. Objective of this paper is an attempt to: 1. Analyze water bodies which are linked together and their catchment area in Jaisalmer city. 2. Analyze the water quality and quantity and how to enhance and maintain quality and quantity of water for flora and fauna of the water body. 3. Develop strategies for enhancing and maintaining of biodiversity of water body, its environment and also for tourism. 4. Study financial feasibility of the development project. These aspects are covered, in relation to Gadisar lake, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
