Marketing is the business function that identifies current unfulfilled needs and wants, defines and measures their magnitude, determines which target markets the organisation can best serve, and decides on appropriate products, services, and programs to serve these markets.

An Assessment - Asset And Liability Management Of Scheduled Commercial Banks In India. Dr. N. Kavitha
Abstract:
This paper examines management of asset-liability in banking sector. The main objective of the study is to present the optimal mix of asset and liability of Scheduled Commercial Banks in India. The paper mainly discusses on the SBI Group, Nationalised Banks Group and Private Banks Group selected as the parameter. The increase in the profitability of a bank is always preceded by the composition of assets and liability. Hence, the following ratios are calculated to identify the optimal mix of asset and liabilities in relation to profitability, ratio analysis was used on the sample of 56 banks comprising SBI and its Associate Banks 8, Nationalized Banks group 19 and Private Banks group 29 for the ten years period.

Since the end of the war in May 2009 the Central Bank has approved new bank 45 branches to be setup in the Northern peninsula. Already 11 banks have commenced operations. Hence it is clear that a bank operation in the war affected area is booming. It is worthwhile to compare this operation by looking at the perspective of private bank and state bank.
The purpose of this study was to find out how customer relationship marketing (CRM) can be sued as a strategy to compete in the market.

How Product Development Influences Product Evaluation. Stephen C. Jones, Tami L. Knotts and Gerald G. Udell
Abstract:
New product development and evaluation is a part of the modern marketplace, and the need for independent third-party evaluations of new products is already established. This study examines how these types of evaluators view the similarities and differences between goods at three levels of product development: invention, innovation and commercialization. Using an instrument created by Udell, O'Neill, and Baker (1977), the authors find that 28 of 39 criteria are able to correctly classify almost 95 percent of the study's cases and that these criteria can be grouped into seven factors describing both the potential downside of product acceptance and the skills needed to establish a product on the market.

A Research Paper on Determinants of Corporate Liquidity in India. Rohit Bansal and Vipan Bansal
Abstract:
The focus of this study is to identify the determinants of corporate liquidity for a sample of 100 firms in the Indian market. The study uses panel data pertaining to two sectors viz., textile and chemical sector undertakings over the period 1999-2008 and employs the backward stepwise regression and correlation. The results indicate that the variables like cash flow, debt ratio, and free cash flow are significant determinants of corporate liquidity for all the sectors under consideration. In addition it has been observed that Size of firm has no impact on liquidity.
