Abstract:
The launching of Islamic Banking in Nigeria has generated a lot of issues from some eminent Nigerians. Owing to this a research study on the issue is necessary. This paper therefore examines the problems and prospects of Islamic Banking in Nigeria and the likely challenges based on the experiences of other nations. The research method employed was that of personal interviews from Islamic Scholars, Pastors and University students. Lagos state became a focus because it is a state that is highly dominated by Muslims and Christians. Published Public opinions emanating from National Dailies were used.

Abstract:
Historically people of Bangladesh have preference for imported products and services. The purpose of this exploratory study is to understand the present situation of local or global brand preferences and their underlying reasons. A total 203 customers of consumer products and services were asked about their purchase tendency from different age, income and occupational groups. Associations were measured for different demographic variables with product categories and reasons for selecting imported and local brands.

Abstract:
The study basically evaluates the effect of risks and uncertainties on the capital size and asset size of Money Deposit Banks in Nigeria. Two hypotheses were formulated for testing. The first hypothesis deals with risks' effect and the second one has to do with uncertainties' effect. The study utilises secondary data for the period of ten years ranging from 1999 to 2008. The techniques employed for the purpose of analysis are multiple regression models.

Abstract:
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is the India's largest Life Insurance Company. LIC has acquired monopoly power in the solicitation and sale of Life Insurance Policies in India. LIC has registered a six per cent increase in market share to 78 percent during the current financial year. LIC's market share at the end of March 31, 2011, had stood at 72 per cent of all new policies sold during the last financial year (2010-11). The combined market share of 23 Private Life Insurance Companies has 22 per cent during the current fiscal, according to the latest figures.
LIC has 53 products in his portfolio and sold around 80 lakh policies till the end of July 2011. LIC has set the new target of Rs. 54000 crores as a first premium income for 2011-12.

Mutual funds are key contributors to the globalization of financial markets and one of the main sources of capital flows to emerging economies. This study provides an overview of the performance of debt scheme of mutual fund of Reliance, and Birla Sunlife with the help of Sharpe Index after calculating Net Asset Values and Standard Deviation. This study reveals that returns on Debt Schemes are close to Benchmark return (Crisil Composite Debt Fund Index: 4.34%) and Risk Free Return: 6% (average adjusted for last five year).
