The Impact Of Revenue Base On Local Governments' Social Assets In Cross River State, Nigeria: 1996 - 2010. Tapang, Arzizeh Tiesieh
Abstract:
This study evaluated the impact of revenue base on social assets creation in selected local governments in Cross River State, Nigeria. The ex-post facto research design was used as a blueprint for collecting data. Data obtained from these local governments covering 1996 to 2010 was analyzed using the Ordinary Least Squares. The study revealed that revenue base has a significant impact on the creation of social assets. However, internally generated revenue which is a stable revenue source has been neglected due to over-dependence on statutory allocation from the federation account. Furthermore, the inability of state government to pay ten per cent (10%) of its internally generated revenue to Councils as statutorily required, coupled with fallouts of the operation of the State Local Government Joint Allocation Account (JAAC) has further impaired the capacity of Councils to create social assets.

A Numerical Study On Developed Laminar Mixed Convection With Vertical Channel In Downflow. B. Rama Bhupal Reddy
Abstract:
In this paper, a numerical study on developed laminar mixed convection in vertical channel is considered. The flow problem is described by means of partial differential equations and the solutions are obtained by an implicit finite difference technique coupled with a marching procedure. The velocity, the temperature and the pressure profiles are obtained and their behaviour is discussed computationally for different values of governing parameters like buoyancy parameter Gr/Re, the wall temperature difference ratio rT and Prandtl number Pr. The analysis of the obtained results showed that the flow is significantly influenced by these governing parameters.

Need For Entrepreneurship Education In School Students. C. S. Ramanigopal, G. Palaniappan and N. Hemalatha
Abstract:
If entrepreneurship education is isolated in a single course, apart from the whole curriculum, it may be missed by many students who then would not profit from their potential development as enterprising individuals. Placing entrepreneurial concepts and the entrepreneur into the standard economics course not only makes the course more reflective of the real world, but it also can help to improve students' comprehension and enjoyment of the economics course. Stories of success resulting from education in entrepreneurship inspire many people to think of starting their own business. This is further aided by the internet to throw the doors open to several opportunities for a new generation of entrepreneurs to seize upon.

Mainstreaming Gender: Challenges In Girish Karnad's Naga-Mandala. Vandana Sukheeja
Abstract:
Mainstreaming gender is a main concept gaining importance in the present century whose ultimate goal is to achieve gender equality through planned action, including legislation, policies or programmes, in all areas and at all levels. But because of the patriarchal nature of the society, the objectives of mainstreaming gender seem to be far away. Kate Millet in Sexual Politics (1970) sees through the game of patriarchal politics that the sexual domination is the most pervasive ideology and fundamental concept of power. The sexual politics of patriarchy situates man as the sovereign subject while a woman is required to find her total fulfillment in submissive drudgery.

"Access to Knowledge is Access to Power": Pros And Cons Of Library Use Under The Copyright Law. Saleena k b
Abstract:
This article describes the reconciliation between copyright law and library services. On the face of it, libraries and copyright protection seem to be located at cross-purposes. One seeks to freely disseminate literature, and the other seeks to preserve the exclusivity of the same. However, looking deeper, one can find a basis for reconciliation of the two in that copyright law is aimed at preventing the unfair use of and unlawful gain from another's literature or other creative work, while libraries aim at distributing knowledge from this literature and other creative works.
